Abe : Where Good Friends Dine

FOOD! this is a long delayed post (I don't want to blog food because I was doing a 5-day crap)  hahahaha! this all happened last week, I was at Padre Pio church (I was praying for something and still hoping I will get it) when my phone started ringing, uh oh! lagot! then everyone stared at me, thank God it was during communion, and the mass was almost over, it was a bored person in the name of Marie Bunagan, so who am I to resist? so I hauled my carcass from Eastwood to guess where? Trinoma! we are going to watch Bangkok Haunted 3 that day, but chose to eat first. so our feet dragged us to Abe (Ah-Bhe), and as the sign says it's Where Good Friends Dine

the DREADED text (just kidding)

It's a Filipino restaurant with a Spanish heritage into it. the place is not the coziest nor the fanciest but it has just the right homey feel to it.

they also have creepy black and white picture wall

Abe is brought to you by LJC restaurant group who brought you Cafe Adriatico, Cafe Havana and others

anyways we looked at the Menu, some were very basic downright Filipino dishes with a mix of Chinese and Spanish upto their dessert, it took a long time for us to order (ako lang pala) because I couldn't make up my mind,  seriously I have a Menu problem. it took a little bit of a long time before our food came, I was able to play a game on Blackberry

I just wanted to post my semi-retarded face

and finally the food came!!!

nope it's not dessert
slowly unravelling

guess what this is?

yummmmmm

Pastel de Lengua
It's Pastel de Lengua, BEEF TONGUE!!! some people don't eat lengua (I used to not too) but I learned to like it growing up, it's actually good food. Abe's version was delicious, tender and downright yummy! the cheesy crust mixes well with the Lengua.

Inihaw na Blue Marlin
we we're supossed to order the Binukadkad na Pla-Pla however in my mind it's just a huge Tilapia, Marie pointed out that they have an off the grill Menu (which is separated from the menu) and we found all the grilled shiz, so we decided to have the Grilled Blue Marlin this was HUGE and THICK!!! it's actually a bargain for it's price. It's downright basic but very delicious, mix it with the Achara and you'll reach sea heaven!

the thing that might draw Pinoy's to Abe is their Mang Inasal apporach on rice (read: unlimited)

served from a foiled basket, Mar gives it a two thumb's up, oh that's Shobe our server she was nice and allowed us to take a picture of her.  and what's a dinner without a blunder, no not with Abe but with an obnoxious person from the table across us, he talks so loud but the person he was talking to was just beside him, he was talking to the whole restaurant! he's into Pharmaceuticals because he surely spoke hell lot about drugs and pills, but he was really annoying and noisy, so to his company please fire him (just kidding)

so I asked Mar to pose for me so that I can take a shot! so here's the face of the noisy inconsiderate man! so if you know this person please tell that he's noisy, people want to have some peace while dining ok?

anyways overall Abe dining was good (could've been better without the noisy guy) so if you want somethng down right good and yummy Filipino go to Abe

and for dessert! Golden Spoon! the selection of flavors of the Yogurt is limited than the Shang-Rila branch but oh well they have Peanut Butter!

Peanut Butter frozen yogurt with marshmallow dough and buttered Pecan! heavennnnn!!!
