Boracay

this is sort of my guide and Chronicle at the same time about Boracay

this is a long due trip of ours, we booked Philippine Airlines during one of their seat sales and boom, MNL - KLB for roughly just around PHP 1500 pax roundtrip, so lookout for those seat sales you might find the deal of your life

Boracay Gang L-R (Laverne, Mark, Anton, ME)

NAIA 2 was quite a breath of fresh air compared to the old NAIA 1, I therefore suggest that NAIA 1 should be closed.

that's our plane right there

we checked-in our luggage, roamed around a bit then boarded our plane seated on our designated seats then the HORROR! there were this ANNOYING! FIRST TIMERS! OBNOXIOUS! NOISY! SQUATTER-LIKE behaving group of passengers (around 10 of them), that were very inconsiderate, yeah fuck we know it's your first time but WTF some people want a peaceful flight ok!
before take-off I asked the FA to let our group transfer in front, but there were only 2 seats available, me and Laverne were supposed to transfer but the SQUATTERS shouted to one of their friends to transfer to our seats, Laverne decided to stay to save our friends, but I just can't! so from 20-C i transferred to 5-B, you can see the frustration on the FA's eyes

my seatmate Lola YM and her husband since 1983 (penpal pa yata uso nun)

so there was peace in 5-B i couldn't even hear shit from the SQUATTERS na! they served our "mirienda" and handed out newspapers

SOBRANG sarap nung Berry Blast

there's Boracay Island already

45 minutes easily passed by and the flight was smooth and very peaceful from my seat, we safely landed at the shabby Kalibo "international" airport and look what welcomed us

it was a free transfer given by PAL because back in Manila I ranted at the ground personnel about our flight being moved from the original schedule! (that happened days ago) I never asked for anything oh well a little acting that you're really hassled works from time to time!

the trip from Kalibo to Caticlan is around 2 hours, we rode the bus then off to the jetty port! inside the bus we talked about the SQUATTERS and our co-passengers overheard us and joined our conversation seriously they were very loud kasi INCONSIDERATE bastards!!! and as when we were leaving we saw the SQUATTER group without any form of transfers they looked so helpless and still SQUATTER, our co-passengers thanked God that we are not with them and said maybe they can't afford LOL!!

When you reach the Caticlan jetty port you need to pay around PHP 100/pax for the boat transfer (includes environmental fee, terminal fee, boat fare)

after around a 15-minute ride we reached Station 2 of the Boracay island, we had a cheap ass tricycle ride to the beach and scouted hotels since it was off-peak season it was very easy to scout! we scouted 3 hotels but we landed at Boracay Peninsula, our group had different requirements for a hotel Laverne wanted a nice clean CR, I wanted free WiFi and all of us wants beach front and REASONABLE, and Boracay Peninsula had it all.

(photo via www.myboracayguide.com)
for that rate you'll get an aircon room, a clean CR with a tub, heater and toiletries, cable TV, a fan, a ref, a dresser and 2 queen size beds, 2 wicker couches and free WiFi
quite comfortable beds, pillows and beddings

It is a nice hotel smacked right at the beach, we had the family room (good for 6 persons) PHP 2700 for a night stay sans breakfast. We were so hungry we ate at D'mall, the food that lunch was just so-so, we had a giant halo-halo na uhmm err..

PHP 200 Halo-halo (hindi masarap)

we just swam that day then rested for a while then had dinner. What we loved most about this trip is that it's the first time that we had no itineraries (our group travels at least once a year), this one is on our own pace and time, relax talaga!

the beach

our dinner aftermath we had paluto Lobsters, Lapulapu, ISAW!, Squid

after dinner we slept! hahaha!

DAY 2

our second day was welcomed by manong taho who sold us taho first at PHP 25 I complained and said manong hindi kami Koreano, and then he made it PHP 20, ok fine fuck for the love of taho.

so that day we went helmet diving we had it for PHP 450/pax but usually it's PHP 600 (pinoy rates ha) foreigner rates are way crazy jacked up. i think it's a must try! Boracay seas are magical, it includes a free pics and vids CD

then we went ATV it's PHP 300 uhm not quite what we expected our guide was quite slow, so we didn't quite enjoy but going home was a different story (pinauna namin yun guide then we full throttled). we didn't go to the aviary because come on it's just effin birds

at night we ate at another buffet at the beach, with a fire dancer, he was very happy doing his job, so we got our pics and gave him a tip.

after which we went to COCOMANGAS

Sex on the Beach, Peppermint Cheeks,  Illusion, Mai Tai PHP 330 / shooter and you can take home the shaker

Me and Anton danced like crazy like highschool while Mark and Laverne just became hermit drinkers

our pizza was stolen but was retrieved may squatter pa rin sa Cocomangas amp

basagan 10PM to 1AM pwede na for oldies like us! hahaha then slept slept slept zzzzzzz...

DAY 3

we woke up at around 9am found the best breakfast buffet in Boracay it's at Le Soleil de Boracay PHP 330/pax for eat all you can heaven!

my breakfast plate

Then we went island "hopping" it's PHP 1300 for a boat for 4 hours we went snorkeling snorkeling snorkeling, oh you need to pay PHP 20/pax for snorkeling fee to a marine officer at the sea

fish feeding fish fish fish

group of starfish how cute

your potential death

afterwhich it was raining (bummer) so I rested and the others beach bummed then we ate dinner again at Le Soleil! unlimited paihaw of fish, shrimp, oysters they also had fresh pasta and free drinks! for just PHP 390/pax ughhh swear i ate a lot of fish!!!

Bern did a little shopping, mejo fail yung pag shop ko eh but look at what i saw,

I name this "fucking pigs"

then it was alone time for me i had a massage at this hut across our hotel i was stripped off up to my underwear IN PUBLIC uhum quite scary hahahaha! but the massage was so effin fine! i slept during! hahaha SOBRANG SARAAAPPPP!!!

DAY 4

It's a bright sunny day, we decided not to eat breakfast because we thought we can catch up at the Le Soleil breakfast after Parasailing and Paraw but turns out to be a bad decision because everything took longer than expected

Paraw is the best thing that could end your Boracay trip it's PHP 700 for a boat for an hour and it's very fine actually very relaxing and calming

then we went Parasailing it's quite hefty for PHP 1000 /pax but I can say it's worth it for the experience

then we went home and it's already time for check out, we packed like crazy! then checked out! had our luggages stored then we ate brunch! it's at this Backyard Barbecue at D'Mall, Anton and me ordered Heart Attack! it's a platter of all grilled everything then Mark and Laverne had Bulalo Steak, I swear that they have the best Liempo in the WORLD!!!

Heart Attack

we did a quick shopping for pasalubong and all then it's started raining again ughh fuck! hahaha! we asked the front desk how long it is till we reach Kalibo and they said you should leave here 4 hours before, then fuck! PANIC we had 3 hours na lang!!! so we walked through the rain then went to the station 2 port through a tricycle, we had lots of mishaps, the tricycle motor died uphill (we needed to push it), we crossed paths to a casket parade, we need to stall for an ambulance and so many bad omens! hahaha then we had a transfer from Sation 2 to Caticlan jetty to Kalibo airport for PHP 200 (includes boat fare and land transfer, does not include other fees), at kung kailan ka nagmamadali dun nagpa gas ang van! hayyy! then poof photo finish at the airport,

there were lot's of people going home

our plane home

no more SQUATTERS

uhm? Fita? Fita???
we had the 2nd to the last row seats hahahaha! finally no more SQUATTERS, then were home! hayyy!

and that's it our Boracay rest, hope this little guide can be of such help

-A

p.s. Dana wish you were here
